500 Mini Stickers and 2016 Date Stamper: The Destiny of Things, Story 381 & 382

500 Mini Stickers and 2016 Date Stamper:  The Destiny of Things, Story 381 & 382

Fun stickers for so many different projects!

Sheet of 500 mini stickers reward themed, available here

Here is one short and sweet note:

Great stickers! Perfect for my students and lots of them! Thanks so much 😉

Each sticker is about 1/2" square and there are 16 different designs and words to cheer you on before they repeat!  I used these in the classroom and gave each student a sheet of their own to reward their own good work.

Now I use them in my planner as reminder of daily habits I'm trying to make routine and as a little fun visual reward to count up at the end of the week to check my progress.

In the photo below, lower left hand corner, you can see the 16 different words and design to cheer you on!

And here is another note I received from another Etsy buyer and shop owner, using them differently:

Exactly what I needed for my project, now that I received it think I will just add these stickers to my collection. ♥ Thank you so much for the wonderful items.

I wonder what the project is or was, but I see they are now in a sticker collection!  Which reminds me of mine!  I haven't thought about my sticker collection in ages and I wonder where it is!  Which means there is another box lost in my hoard with years and years of my "saved" stickers which I've been collecting since childhood.

Imagine, all the vintage stickers I must have lost some where.... I have no idea where they might be.  I hope I didn't accidentally throw them out, however if I did accidentally throw them out, maybe it's a blessing in disguise.

2016 to 2025 mechanical date stamper, available here

Another note from the same Etsy buyer and shop owner:

Something I've been looking for, for the longest time came in promptly and surely handy for my daily Journal and office use. :) The kindest shop owner ever!! ♥

I wonder if her daily journal contains art or gratitude lists or writings of the highlight of the days.  That's what mine contains and I use this stamper on the days I do write or jot down art ideas in it.  Of course, I wonder what kind of office work too.

I'm not disciplined enough yet to write in mine daily, but I do try to write in it daily for about 3 days or when it gets busy at least once a week.

She bought this heart too.  I wonder if it's a gift for someone or herself, she didn't say.    This heart is sold out, but here's a silver one that's about the same size, here

Saying Goodbye:  I am so happy my teacher destash is finding new lives and homes and the date stamper has become more popular than I ever thought could happen.

Also, I have a lot of vintage heart pendants and charms collected over the years because since childhood I've collected little charms for my sterling and gold charm bracelets, but my favorites were the puffy and floating hearts from the 80s and 90s, remember those?  Later I thought was going to use in mixed media art, so I hope they find new lives too or whatever is left I'll use in my mixed media art.

I'm still not sure what to do with my sterling and gold charm bracelets from childhood.  Below are the kinds of puffy hearts I loved to collect while I was in college for my sterling charm bracelet, the reversible kind that reminded me of the Victorian era.

During my college years, I used to wear this as a collar bar pin when I wore my Victorian tops I bought from thrift stores, available here
photo via Hoarder Rehab

What I Learned:

1.  Much of teacher destash have found new homes and I am so happy about it.  Lots have either sold out or I just have one more left to go!  Except for my lenticular rulers with multiplication family chars on them.  Now I need to feel better about letting go of my charm collection because it is huge and vast.  I've been starting with my sterling heart charms collection.

2,  Now I remember I have another collection to find.  My sticker collection.  Not another collection to deal with.....

3.  There's more I learned, but at the moment I can't think of them because I am too tired to think, remember and write more.

Here is a little 14k gold charm, like the ones I would collect for my gold charm bracelet collection, available here

Thank you Etsy buyer and kind shop owner from Crochet by Kathie.  Thank you for sharing your story and how you are using these items because it reminded me of my sticker collection.  I'd love to see your sticker collection.

Also, thank you for reminding me to get in better habit with writing in my journal daily and using my date stamper.

Most of all, thank you for our new friendship!

Read her Etsy profile here.  Check out her shop and lovely crochet items that range from blankets, to clothing and kitchen accessories.  I've been eying her dish clothes, which look way to good to use for washing dishes and if I didn't already have a hoard of them I'd get some!  See the cuties here.  My all time favorites are the pastel lotus blossoms, here.

I also love these fingerless gloves, here.  I love the color of this baby girl blanket set with headbands, here.  The flower and cute green button accent is so cute.

Thank you Etsy for the best Hoarder Rehab ever!  And for all the kind people I'm meeting who are helping me indirectly and directly in so many ways with my Hoarder Rehab!  I've been gleaning so much insight about my hoarding ways!  And this time, for all the friends I'm making.  I never thought that would happen.

Hen & Chicks Mini Strawberry Pocket Planter: The Destiny of Things, Story 380

Hen & Chicks Mini Strawberry Pocket Planter:  The Destiny of Things, Story 380

I would have never thought of this and it's such a cool way to use it!

Strawberry planter: sold out, but the last of my planter collection, available here

Just a few words from an Etsy buyer and here they are!

This is perfect for my Hens and Chicks.

I would have never thought it would be for hens and chicks and I'm not sure if the meaning is literal or figurative.  Is it for hens and chick feed or succulents called hens and chicks?  Personally I thought it was for hens and chick feed, lol!  Then I googled it.

What do you think?  Most likely for the succulents, called hens and chicks.....Either way, it's a cool way to use it and I would have loved to see her photos of it, but here's what I found when I googled it.

photo via blog, two twenty one

I was going to use it to plant a very mini herb station for my kitchen window, just never got around to it.  I mean, this strawberry pocket planter was very mini, like 3.5 inches tall!  Below is my dream of herbs in it.

photo via blog, You Grow Girl

However, I don't have a very green thumb and tend to either over water or under water or just forget about the care of plants completely!  I'm hoping to change that now that so much of my hoard is gone.  Maybe this time around my plants won't just blend in with the rest of my hoard and get ignored.

Strawberry planter: sold out, but the last of my planter collection, available here

Saying Goodbye:  I had a huge planter and vase collection.  Most of it I had donated during a purge and move, ten years ago, but I still had my favorites, like Bauer, McCoy and little skinny windowsill ones.  Luckily, most of them have all sold.

This sea foam green planter is about 6 inches tall and may look like Bauer, but it has the McCoy hallmark on the bottom, available here
photo via VintageToGoEasy

What I Learned:

1.  I am so happy to see that most of my vase and planter collection have now found new lives and homes.  I won't be collecting anymore of them.  I am keeping two large white Bauer swirl planters that belonged to my Grandmother and two sets of her Bauer nesting ring ware pyramid mixing bowls, one in ivory and the other in green.

2.  I also had a huge serving and mixing bowl collection, seven bowls are still available, here.  My brother and I used to do a lot of cooking and baking from high school to college and when we'd go thrifting and find a cool bowl, we'd say, "a cook can never have too many bowls" and buy them.

3.  The only thing I've been collecting lately is paper.  I am so in love with Japanese paper at the moment.  It's been my reward lately to start some healthier habits, while I try and stop other old bad habits.

Black medium sized ring ware bowl, perhaps Bauer, available here

Thank you Etsy buyer from VintageToGoEasy for sharing how you will use the mini strawberry planter.  It was fun learning something new! and it helped me realize how far I've come now that most of my planter and vase collection have found new lives and homes!  Thanks to Etsy!

I've been routinely relisting daily and hopefully will new list items soon because I found a reward and have been getting up at 3 am!  I have my rewards all lined up for the next week or too and I'm so excited about it and my new goals!

I am still postponing my exercise plan for later this week or next because over the weekend, we went to the Peterson Automotive Museum to check out their Vault Tour, which was not so good for my allergies, so I am in recovery mode.  I plan to write a review on the tour too!  So stay tuned!

Nail Art Charm Organizer 8 Wheel Compartment Container Box: The Destiny of Things, Story 379

Nail Art Charm Organizer 8 Wheel Compartment Container Box:  The Destiny of Things, Story 379

Nail Art seems to be very popular!

8 Wheel Compartment Organizer Container Box, available here

Here is the note I received:

I will be using this to store my nail charms! Thanks!

So fun!  I'd love to see her nail art nails!

8 Wheel Compartment Organizer Container Box, available here

I use mine to organize beads for current projects I'm working on and to organize other small objects by color or theme.  Occasionally I use them to wrap small gifts by filling up each compartment with something fun!

8 Wheel Compartment Organizer Container Box, available here

Saying Goodbye:  I have two of these being used, one as a bead organizer and the other holds heart themed objects, like brads, stickers and beads and I've used one as a gift box last year.

It was a rabbit themed gift and this sweet pink rabbit fit perfectly inside one of the compartments, as seen below.  The other compartments were filled with a sterling bunny charm, bunny sequins, a bunny necklace, tiny rabbit beads that could be added to the necklace, mini bunny stickers, bunny and carrot brads, and a bunny ring.

What I Learned:

1.  I just love all kinds of boxes! especially ones with lids or that stack and are see through.  As a matter of fact, my latest collection of boxes are the "to go" boxes from Tender Greens, which is an organic restaurant chain that we eat out at for special occasions.

I've been collecting the large and small ones from the restaurant and keep on going projects stacked up on a shelf.  However, we eat there less and less now because I think over time they are serving less and less organic and gluten free foods.

2.  My other favorite storage organizers are these little clear one ounce jars with pop top lids.  I store my strung beads on them and use the lid to hold the beads I'm going to use, as seen with the black tube beads in the photo below.  I also store them upside down, so I can see the beads more easily and quickly.

I have these in larger 4 oz size too.  Let me know and I'll list them for you.

Thank you Etsy buyer from JunkDrawerAndMore  for sharing your use of the wheel compartment organizer.  Keep your ideas and stories coming!  It really helps with my story by giving me insight into mine.  I'm still collecting boxes, but at least I'm recycling!

Empty Coke Bottles as Wedding and Reunion Centerpieces: The Destiny of Things, Story 377 a& 378

Empty Coke Bottles as Wedding and Reunion Centerpieces:  The Destiny of Things, Story 377 & 378

Most of the time, as a recovering hoarder, I can't throw anything away!  BEFORE:

These Coke bottles have sold and have been replaced with these jar vases, here

These were used in a reunion with the good old days theme and this is how I showed them as an example to use them as a centerpiece:

These Coke bottles have sold and have been replaced with these jar vases, here

The Etsy buyer only bought three to try out, but now that I think of it....

Oh my, now that I'm writing this, I think, an Etsy buyer bought the last 18 of these for her wedding in South Carolina.  She said she was going to use them in her wedding as vase centerpieces, since she was getting married in an old Coca Cola factory!

Here is her email:

Hi! Hope you're doing well. My fiance and I are getting married next year at an old Coca-Cola Bottling Plant in Monroe, NC. I'm interested in purchasing about 20 of your coca-cola bottles, in assorted sizes, to use as center pieces at our reception. I was wondering what your current inventory was, and how much it would be to shop to the following zip code xxxxxx.

Thank you.

And then she bought all I had!

Later she emailed this:

Kennedy and her husband were beyond helpful. They were very quick to respond. I emailed her stating exactly what I needed, questioning how much shipping costs would be. She gave me various options and let me pick what I was most comfortable with. I had my order in less than a week (going from CA to SC). I would highly recommend using this shop and speaking with them if they have items you are interested in!

and she sent a photo of how they reached her safely.
These Coke bottles have sold out and have been replaced with these jar vases, here

Saying Goodbye:  I don't think we'll be restocking these because 2 or 3 summers or so ago, I used to buy one every time I went thrift shopping because that summer was so hot!  I've banned myself from thrifting due to all the hoard I accumulate, like the trunk gets mysteriously full by the time I get home!

So just think, if I had over 18 of these that's over 18 thrifting trips! and also that's a lot of sugar!  However I did buy them at a little Mexican market that sold cokes from Mexico with cane sugar and not high fructose corn syrup, but it's not organic.

Now I just make my own flavored sodas by using 10% juice, usually organic tart cherry and 90% bubbly water, usually S. Pellegrino.   In the summer, when it's really hot, my coke soda alternative is now, an organic Tamarindo mix with a salty plum and bubbly water, which is a favorite Chinese drink of mine, but I forget what's it's called in Chinese or English.

I have 3 more of the above recycled bottle vases too.  If you'd like me to list them, please email me at hoarderrehab@yahoo.com and I will because I think we have a shipping box for them now.  I use mine for Day of the Dead.

What I Learned:

1.  I am becoming better at throwing bottles out into the recycle bin, but it's not always easy for me to do for some unknown reason.  I think one reason why it's become more easy for me is because I decided to keep my old bottle vase collection to use as flower vases and have listed and found new homes for most of my vases and planters.

2.  But I still love coke bottle and the ones pictured in the above photos for Day of the Dead and other fiesta related fun!

3.  My Etsy buyer stories are starting to pile up and I am getting them mixed up, but that's okay, since I can combine some now, but for some unknown reason I feel a little guilty about it.

4.  I also have a difficult time throwing out paper into the recycling bin!  Especially if the other side is blank and still seems useful for lists, like grocery lists or to do lists.  Or if it's an envelope with an interesting security design on the inside and I  also like envelopes with the plastic windows.  Don't ask me why, it's another hoarding mystery for me to figure out!

What to do?

Smaller bistro cafe recycled bottle vases or apothecary style bottles, available here

Thank you Etsy buyers from The Destiny of Things for your input and sharing your event ideas. Also for finding new homes for all the rest of all the coke bottles I had!  I don't think I'll be doing that again!  I do hope your reunion and wedding were the most memorable and fun!  Sounds like it would be from the theme and venues!

Bottle jar vases or embossed 20 ounce glass organizer containers, as you can see here I use mine to sort out my gumball capsule collection for my art and listings.
We  also use these for our juice jars because they are easy to measure and see how much green drink we have daily, available here.
If I remember correctly, I think they are embossed at every 4 ounces.

I've been at least relisting daily for the past 2 days and hopefully will new list items tomorrow because I found a reward and have been getting up at 3 am!  Unfortunately the reward is paper and I hope I'm not adding them to my hoard of paper, but I think I'll be using them as photo props and in my mixed media art.  Only time will tell.

Next week, I'm going back to my simple exercise plan too, but only doing 25 jumping jacks daily, instead of 50 and hopefully this time I don't get so fatigued it takes me all day to either wake up or all my strength just to stay awake!

RIP Coffin Bead Boxes for Horror Theme Party: The Destiny of Things, Story 376

RIP Coffin Bead Boxes for Horror Theme Party:  The Destiny of Things, Story 376

I wonder if these were part of a Horror Movie bead party activity.....

These coffin boxes are out of stock and we won't be restocking them, but we have a metal pop open coffin box, available here or a similar bead samples in gumball capsules, here.  Photo via JunkDrawerAndMore

An Etsy buyer bought all I had of these and said they were for her daughter's Horror Movie Night Party.  I've looked all over for either the email, note to buyer, feedback, etc and can't find a trace of it, except it's on my very old list of blog stories!

That's what I get for trying to save it for last year's Halloween blog story and not finding it then and then finding it again now!

Now I try to write the blog stories as they come, but they is definitely a backlogged supply now!  What to do?

The coffin boxed skull beads only were the most popular, but I soon ran out of skull beads and had to mix them with others.  Now the plastic coffin boxes are out of stock and we won't be restocking them, but we have a metal pop open coffin box, available here or a similar bead samples in gumball capsules, here.
Photo via JunkDrawerAndMore

Anyways, I imagine a fun Horror Movie Night party filled with friends, popcorn, favorite scary movies and favorite scary stories, while making bead bracelets with these beads as souvenirs and then taking them home in a coffin, as a jewelry box.

I don't know why, but I just love little trinket boxes and bought all kinds to pass out with candy and other fun spooky stuff inside it, several Halloweens ago and ended up with extras because no one knocks on our door for Halloween anymore.  So here they are or here they were.

At first the beads didn't sell too well, but as soon as I combined them with the coffin boxes, off they went!  These coffin boxes are out of stock and we won't be restocking them, but we have a metal pop open coffin box, available here or a similar bead samples in gumball capsules, here.  Photo via JunkDrawerAndMore

Saying Goodbye:  I don't buy much anymore... knock on wood... and hope this Halloween I buy even less than I did last Halloween!  However, I did buy some of these metal pop open coffin boxes for my mixed media Day of the Dead loteria art to make some travel ofrenda shrines for next November.

Which means I should make them soon, so I can list them in June and then they'll expire right before Day of the Dead on November 1st.

These are ones that don't look very Day of the Dead to me, so they are listed here
I use one now to keep spare change in because I just love how it pops open and it's quite handy when I meet homeless people who ask me for spare change.  I think they are really cigarette boxes, but I don't smoke! ha!
Photo via JunkDrawerAndMore

What I Learned:

1.  I don't do well saving blog stories for holiday occasions because I either can't find my list or totally forget about them when the occasion arises.  On my list for last year, I have saved blog stories for Independence Day, Day of the Dead, etc. and this year, I even missed this past Cinco de Mayo!

2.  Every year, I do hope I get a little better at planning ahead by 4 months because Etsy's listings last for 4 months and I like them to expire 7 days before the holiday or special occasion, like Mother's day because RUSH orders stress me out and for some reason, we get a lot of RUSH order requests.  I think we've already gotten 4-5 this month for overnight deliveries, which we don't do unless they fall on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday.  Because those are the only days we ship out now.

3.  My hoard is dissipating enough so that my goal of being able to take care of house plants despite my brown thumb is starting to happen!  I hope to work my way up to a goldfish!  I am so happy!

4.  My best goal motivations are rewards for kicking bad habits and lately, I can't believe there is nothing I want to buy for a reward!  My best working solution for my insomnia is getting up at 3 am and usually a reward kick starts it off, but all the "rewards" on my list aren't getting me up at 3 am, so I guess I don't really want them.

5.  Also, I'm trying to stop another bad habit I do to relieve stress and can't find a reward to help me start that one off either.  I found this 100% silk summer dress, but it's $120 dollars and it's not lined or machine washable, so I doubt I'll wear it often if I have to get it eco dry cleaned.

I found some art I like but it's been coated in bees wax, so I'm not sure how to hang it up or display it properly without it getting to hot or melting or it leaving marks on the back of it.

What to do?

I love the one I use now to keep spare change in because I just love how it pops open and it's quite handy when I meet homeless people who ask me for spare change and for parking meters.  I think they are really cigarette boxes, but I don't smoke! ha!  Listed here.  Photo via JunkDrawerAndMore

That's the pop open mechanism button that I just love!  Also, I like how it stands up on it's own.  It might make a cute spooky travel sewing box too!  I like the little moving levers on each side to hold things in place, except for the change, which is so fun to scare kids when I tell them it's just some bones rattling around!
Listed here.  Photo via JunkDrawerAndMore

I'll be relisting and listing new items tomorrow. ... hopefully.  Because since I can't get up at 3 am without a decent reward to start me off with this habit again, I've been sleeping in til 4 or 5 am and no amount of coffee wakes me up and I'm that way until about 6 pm and then by the time I start waking up, it's time for me to make dinner and wind down for the day.  I don't know what my body is doing or thinking!

And my simple exercise plan is out the window too because that's what got me so tired, for 2 weeks, I didn't feel like I ever woke up and dragged myself around, even if I woke up at 3 am, so I decided to sleep the fatigue off.  So now I'm thinking it's another mystery allergy reaction to something new that I need to figure out....  What to do?  Perhaps a vacation?
