Here is the email I received:

These are Memorial Day favors for veterans.  Note the little red tags purchased from you, "Lest we forget".  50% of the favor is Etsy. items.  I enjoy doing these.  The first favor I make for an occasion is usually the most challenging.  I liked this particular one.  It'll be a keeper for some I'm guessing.  Thank you for sharing your stuff!  :)

AFTER:

Here is what I wrote back:

Hi there!
Thank you so much for making my day!  I just love your Memorial Day favors for Veterans.  They are keepers!  And I also just love how half of your items to create them came from Etsy!  Too cool!  I'll use your story for Memorial day and keep you anonymous.
Thank you for taking the time to help me with my Hoarder Rehab and for sending my favorite of all, an update photo of how the little red tags were used!  I am so grateful!  Thanks for making my Hoarder Rehab more fun and inspiring!
Best to you,
Kennedy

So simple, yet lovely!  Love the traditional use of the poppy!  The poppy flower meaning:  Remember those who have passed away to protect you and all that you love. Develop your own sense of inner peace so you can rest at night and get all the sleep you need. Honor the dead and cultivate your imagination for a richer life.

Lest we forget is from the "Recessional" poem by Rudyard Kipling via wikipedia:

God of our fathers, known of old,
Lord of our far-flung battle line,
Beneath whose awful hand we hold
  Dominion over palm and pine—
Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet,
Lest we forget—lest we forget!

The tumult and the shouting dies;
The Captains and the Kings depart:
Still stands Thine ancient sacrifice,
An humble and a contrite heart.
Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet,
Lest we forget—lest we forget!

Far-called our navies melt away;
On dune and headland sinks the fire:
Lo, all our pomp of yesterday
Is one with Nineveh and Tyre!
Judge of the Nations, spare us yet,
Lest we forget—lest we forget!

If, drunk with sight of power, we loose
Wild tongues that have not Thee in awe,
Such boastings as the Gentiles use,
Or lesser breeds without the Law—
Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet,
Lest we forget—lest we forget!

For heathen heart that puts her trust
In reeking tube and iron shard,
All valiant dust that builds on dust,
And guarding calls not Thee to guard,
For frantic boast and foolish word-
Thy Mercy on Thy People, Lord![5]

Saying Goodbye:  We have plenty of WW2 Veterans in our family.  Luckily none to remember on Memorial day.  I am grateful to those brave souls who gave their lives for the freedoms I have today and give them a silent moment and prayer.

What I Learned:

1.  I am so happy that someone had the fore thought to remember Veterans in such a beautiful way this Memorial day and share it with me.  I haven't done a project, like hers since I've retired from teaching.  I worked at a year round school, so one never knew which holidays we'd be studying.

2.  I love all the details she used in remembrance and always have wondered where the "lest we forget" saying came about from.  What a creative way to use those tiny mini tags!

3.  I haven't been sleeping due to a cold that I'm fighting off.  One day I get the sniffles, the next an itchy spot on my throat and today it's a slight cough.  I am so grateful I'm not going to get all the symptoms all at once!

So I've been taking things really slow, kinda like on the new Twin Peaks show!  Everything is moving slowly and mindfully and I'm trying that out now!

Thank you fun Etsy buyer from JunkDrawerAndMore!  Thank you for your kind and inspiring email and most of all for remembering all Veterans this Memorial day with a poppy and the saying, "lest we forget."

I saw a birthday cake card once, I can't find it again, but the one below is something like it but there was a mini red tag on it that read, "Happy Birthday!"  I'll have to write that down on my list of projects!  Thank you for the reminder, especially since I know some birthday days on the way!

Thank you Etsy for the best Hoarder Rehab ever!  And for all the kind people I'm meeting who are helping me indirectly and directly in so many ways with my Hoarder Rehab!  I've been gleaning so much insight about my hoarding ways.

Most of my Great Uncles served during WW2, but only one ever talked about it and he was there when they liberated Dachau.  Through the years, I've always been drawn to and collected war items from the past, like a Jap Zero airplane bracelet from the Mariana Islands and have many items made from my Grandparents when they were interned.  Many of my WW2 items have sold, but here is one still available.

Since things have slowed down some due to this holiday and summer coming, I've been new listing on a more regular basis.  Come and see our new dehoarded stuff!

Anyone out there have any suggestion or ideas on how to use the new Etsy format and new Etsy Studio to their shop's best advantage?  and if it has helped bump up your sales?

Looks like two shops need refills!  I've listed new today and hopefully tomorrow too!

Maybe you'll find something to adopt and share your story too!  Thanks for looking!

I have a pretty large collection of German WW2 tinnies, which were given out for attending rallies, holiday remembrances or in exchange for donations.  The one above is for Mother's day.  I just love the forget me not!

Dragon Eyes and Mermaid Cocktail Drink Toppers: The Destiny of Things, Story 472

Dragon Eyes and Mermaid Cocktail Drink Toppers:  The Destiny of Things, Story 472

Sometimes a story turns into something else!  like Dragon eyes!!!!

4 or 8 Little Mermaid & Pirate cake toppers cocktail drink charm marker Father's day champagne brunch BBQ pool party glass topper Peter Pan wedding birthday party decor supply, available here

Here is the first note I received:

Great little additions for mini gardens, beach terrariums and cocktails! Love the vivid colors.

I love the colors too and they do add a nice pop of color as plant jewelry to indoor gardens and mini sandy beach terrariums!

Then I received an interesting request in a second note:

With the order you sent a few lovely extras, thank-you. Any chance you could send me one more strip of the blue plastic gemstones? just those. They are perfect for a project of mine.

Below is a photo of the strips of plastic gemstones.  They are actually stickers!  I used to have them listed, but since I am the only one who seems to use them in my mixed media art and on cards, etc... I know also add them to my "thank you" packaging, which is basically a sample of things from all our shops.

Let me know if you'd use them to and I'll relist them!

I send a small sample strip of these sticker gem stones with my "thank you" goodie bag and usually it's a color of the season or holiday.

I had no idea what she was going to use them for and sent her some!  And got this next note!

oh wow, got your lovely card and lots of blue gems today. Thank you so much! You are the best!
Happy Holidays to you!

and then I sent this back:

You are so welcome! Have fun and Happy Holidays!

And then I received a fun surprise!  And what a kicker, it also came with before and after photos too!

Another note!

I bought these dragons as an anniversary gift for my husband. Needed some eyes and guess where they came from. Love it!! Before and After WOW!

BEFORE:

Very cool dragons!

AFTER:

It's not easy to see them, but I have a close up of one!
photo via Etsy buyer from JunkDrawerAndMore

Then I wrote back:

WOW! Indeed! Such a little touch makes them come so alive! Thank you for sharing, I was so curious!
Happy Anniversary to you both!

and then she wrote back:

Thank you Kennedy. Such a pleasure to finally find the right thing. I've had these since September. People now stop to check them out, some dogs freak out, so fun....Thanks again!

and I wrote back:

Hahaha! That's too funny, even dogs check them out and freak!!!! Thanks for making my day! Next time you order some mermaids, I'll send you some red sticker jewels! lol

You are so welcome, my pleasure too! What fun!
Kennedy

And then the fun note exchange ended with this close up!

I thought it was a better close up, but I guess it's good enough to freak out dogs and walkers!

Saying Goodbye:  My hoard pile of a room has gotten to the point where I am now working on dehoarding my truck!  I've been taking baby steps, so I don't get too overwhelmed.  Working slowly works better for me and it's better than either procrastinating or getting so overwhelmed I just stop dead in my tracks!

What I Learned:

1.  Sometimes a random act of kindness goes a long way and I am grateful to be able to make others happy in small and big ways.

2.  I kinda want some dragons protecting the entrance to my house now! lol  That was the hoarder in me blurting out!  As a recovering hoarder, I'll stay content with all the feral cats that protect our gate and who have adopted us. We have 3-4 regulars and many come visit every once in awhile and we have about 3-4 more we need to catch and take to Fixnation for check ups and fixing.

3.  Things are slowing down a bit on Etsy, so I hope to catch up on some things, like new listings and spend some time taking all the tours of all the new changes.

What's been keeping you busy lately?

Who would have thought this mermaid order, would have turned into Dragon Eye fun!

Thank you fun Etsy buyer from JunkDrawerAndMore!  Thank you for your request and for sharing the "before" and "after" results of all the fun emails and snail mail!

Everyday is an adventure dehoarding on Etsy, even if it is just a few strips of sticker gem stones at a time! And it was so fun to be a tiny part of someone's anniversary gift to make it a little more special!  even to walkers and dogs!  I am so grateful that my "thank you" care package was appreciated and used in such a fun and funny way!

Thank you Etsy for the best Hoarder Rehab ever!  And for all the kind people I'm meeting who are helping me indirectly and directly in so many ways with my Hoarder Rehab!  I've been gleaning so much insight about my hoarding ways.

I've been so busy with getting used to the new Etsy shop management roll out.  I'm still waiting for 2 shops to transition completely.  I am planning on new listing at least weekly until I'm used to all the changes! I'm still keeping my goal is to keep new listing until I reach my goal of 180+ items at all the shops! It's just going to take more time than I thought.

Anyone out there have any suggestion or ideas on how to use the new Etsy format and new Etsy Studio to their shop's best advantage?  and if it has helped bump up your sales?

I also hope to get back to blogging on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays again.

A different Etsy buyer shared that she used her monkey order as plant jewelry and it sounded like there were hundreds of these on her plant and every time it grew, she would add more!  This was my version of how to use these monkey toppers as plant jewelry!

First Loose Tooth Holder Necklace: The Destiny of Things, Story 471

First  Loose Tooth Holder Necklace:  The Destiny of Things, Story 471

Smile for all the summer toothless grins out there for the first time!

5 or 10 sweet tooth fairy box plastic charm locket keeper container necklace locket sweet tooth fairy classroom, available here.  Photo via Hoarder Rehab

Here is the note I received:

My daughter has her first loose tooth and has requested to keep the tooth once it falls out rather than leave it for the Tooth Fairy. When a child loses a tooth at school, her teacher gives them a little necklace like these to safely take the tooth home in. My daughter asked to have one at home for her tooth. The request was so sweet (and quirky) that I didn't want to disappoint. She is thrilled to know that we now have a supply of tooth saver necklaces at home! Receiving the shipment was so fun. The package arrived with a personal note and a little care package... made me smile. Thank you!!

How fun, is that?  And to think there is a little girl out there who would rather keep her first loose tooth, rather than give it to the tooth fairy!  I think that's just precious!

And to think I was one of those teacher who gave these little necklaces out to my students too!  And now she has her own stash at home.  A little kind thought can go a long way with kids and maybe it'll be one of those memories she remembers all her life!  Too cool!  Kudos to mom for going the extra the mile!

These come with a little pony star bead inside it not only for fun, but because I check each one to make they close and open properly and they don't have any cavities!  (Some have little black spots on them, which I can't figure out what it is and sometimes it doesn't come off, some the lids fall off, etc)  The little ones I give them too, get wide eyed, when I tell them the rattling sound might be from a pirate's tooth inside it!
Available here.  Photo via Hoarder Rehab

Saying Goodbye:  One day, I hope to use the ones with cavities or seconds to place on the bottom corner of a box as a secret compartment, but I haven't yet found a box that's the right size for them yet.  I had a stash of these left over from my teaching days and didn't know they'd become so popular at our shops!  I am so grateful for that.

What I Learned:

1.  A lot of my teaching props and student rewards or motivational give a ways have become popular sellers at our shops.  I used to give these to students first thing, during Dental Hygiene week and since I could never decide which one I liked best, I also gave them the tooth saver treasure chest.

Of course, lots of teeth fall out when you are third grade, so many got to choose which one they'd rather have to keep their tooth safe til they got home.

2.  Yes, my hoarding days got worse while I was a teacher because I always needed things in 30 to 32 count, so not one student or guests, like my teacher aide would be left out.  Sometimes I miss my teacher hoard, only because it took me so long to accumulate just right for each lesson, but since I'm retired now, I have enough hoard to gently let go currently.

3.  Speaking of my hoarder rehab, I have still have a room full, but it's less, so I am now dehoarding my truck!  It is jam packed with my camping and survival gear and I'm not quite sure what to do with it yet.

4.  I have taken a box out and I do my best to look inside it daily and take one thing out and decide what to do with it.  Which reminds me, I need to go back to throwing out 10 things a day, even if it is just paper.  I am such the recycler!

Pink is our best seller and I don't know why, but one Etsy buyer did tell me that she was having a hen party with a sweet tooth theme and was going to use them as cupcake toppers!

Thank you fun Etsy buyer from Hoarder Rehab!  You have a great daughter, I think it's so cute that she doesn't want to give her tooth to the tooth fairy! And I think it's so cool that you honored her wish and made it come true!  And for me I am so grateful for making both of you smile and that my care package was appreciated!

Turquoise Snake Eye Sterling Native American Bracelet Found Again: The Destiny of Things, Story 470

Turquoise Snake Eye Sterling Native American Bracelet Found Again: The Destiny of Things, Story 470

Two "Lost and Found" story bracelets, one after another!  So exciting!

The one in the photo was lost and now is found.  I am so thankful it has found a new life and home!
I have another one just like it, but with darker turquoise, available here

Here is the heartfelt story email I received:

I cannot express to you how much I love this bracelet. I loved your note and all the cute things you put in it!

6 years ago my late father got me this awesome hand made turquoise cuff bracelet he found at this small, unique jewelry store. It looked most similar to this one. I wore it all the time. I even wore it in the ocean and the waves ripped it right off my wrist and I never found it again.

I was so upset cause I loved it so much. I couldn't even tell me dad that I lost it cause I didn't want him to be bummed out that he spent 150 on a bracelet that I lost. He passed away now, but I've been searching and searching to find one just like it or similar and yours fit closely to it. I was so giddy opening the package cause I knew already I was gonna love it. I actually have a ring that matches it exactly! It's like they were made together! It's so perfect. I can't thank you enough!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

P.S I'll send a picture of the ring that looks like this with the bracelet when I finally dump some of my pictures out of my phone...it's so packed it won't let me take a picture.

The one in the photo was lost and now is found.  I am so thankful it has found a new life and home with such heartfelt meaning to someone who loves it!

What are the odds of getting "two" lost and found bracelet stories in a row!  This one came in the day after the other one, here!

Here is what I wrote back:

Hi there!

Thank you so much for your email and story!!!!! I am so excited for you and so thankful that my bracelet has found a new home and better life with you with quite the cool story! I've lost so much jewelry to the ocean, I hope some mermaid has adorned herself with our stuff!

I can't wait til you dump your hoard of photos on your phone and can send me a pix of your matching ring and bracelet!!!!! :)

Thanks for making my day with your good news and taking part in my Hoarder Rehab! I hope I can use your story on my Hoarder Rehab blog! I'll leave you anonymous.

Kindest regards,
Kennedy

PS. I have had several of these through the years because I used to like to wear mine stacked and I think I still have one more in my hoard! And thank you for letting me know, you loved the note with all the cute stuff in it!

Here is how I used to love to wear them stacked and move them around til they made peaceful jingle sounds.  I think I only have a few bracelets left, but I still have a lot of Native American jewelry, especially necklaces, if I can find the box in my hoard!  See all of my collection here under the section, My Native American World here.
photo via Hoarder Rehab

I just love it when someone is just as excited as me to get something as I am just as excited to let it go now!  Before, my Native American bracelet collection was not so easy to let go, even though I'm allergic to sterling now and can't wear them.  A little weird, right?

Well, not if you are a recovering hoarder!  These bracelets kept some good memories in them and I've been collecting them since elementary school!  I had to let at least 10 of them go from my Etsy shops until I finally got used to letting them go freely and joyfully!

I used to love to wear them stacked and listen to them jingle.  They would make such a pleasant peaceful sound to me and by changing the positions of the bracelets I could make different jingles.

See what's left of my collection here under the section, My Native American World here.

Saying Goodbye:  As a recovering hoarder, so far for several months now, nothing that I have let go has given me high anxiety or feelings of loss, fear of missing out and regret.  This is some wonderful progress on my part! Knock on wood, peace on Earth!

What I Learned:

1.  It has become so much easier for me to let go of my hoard and I am so thankful for this transition!  It has taken years of practice of letting go and each time it becomes less scary and easier.

In the beginning , it was like prying it out of my hands and then I'd fret about it until it hit the post office.  Sometimes sad memories came out of a piece and I'd cry and other times it was anger and anxiety, but now it's a peaceful calm, most of the time.  Sometimes, I'll get a slight lingering twinge, but at least I know it will pass easily once I acknowledge it and let it go.

2.  I never even knew how much stuff I actually have and probably still don't because I know I have several Native American fetish necklaces and Mexican Folk Art Milagro necklaces some where! but at least my hoard is all in one room now and my truck.

3.  Speaking of my truck, I am making such good dehoarding progress, I just started emptying it a couple of weeks ago and it's jammed packed too!  Mainly with my camping gear and who knows what else.  Slowly, but surely with tiny baby steps, everything is getting organized and finding new lives, including me!

4.  Here is one of my dehoarding mottos:  Just organize, sell or put away one thing a day from one of my designated boxes.  It may seem slow, but I see it as a baby step and after one month, at least 30 items will be dehoarded, decided upon and taken care of!  And then I move on to the next box!

This is a photo of the Turquoise Snake Eye Sterling bracelet with darker turquoise than the last one.  It looks pretty much the same, except for the turquoise is darker.  It's actually darker than in the photos, but it's been cloudy and rainy over here lately, available here.

Thank you fun Etsy buyer from Hoarder Rehab!  It's so much more fun to know the new story behind my bracelet and that is has so much heartfelt meaning to you, which makes letting it go that much more meaningful to me!  Thank you for all your help!   And thank you for making my Hoarder Rehab so fun, pleasant and exciting!

Thank you Etsy for the best Hoarder Rehab ever!  And for all the kind people I'm meeting who are helping me indirectly and directly in so many ways with my Hoarder Rehab!  I've been gleaning so much insight about my hoarding ways.

My most favorite Native American sterling bracelets are the sand cast ones, like the one above.  I think I love the sand cast ones because they remind me of making sand cast layered candles in the school yard playground sand boxes in first grade!
I can't imagine how difficult it must be to make a sterling bracelet with a sand cast!  Plus I love to see the grains of sand on the inside of them.  I have two left, but I'm keeping the one from my mom.  The one in the photo is available here
