Saying Goodbye:  I don't know how much longer we'll be restocking these because long story short, these end up being a time consuming labor of love and I'm hoping to move on to other things that I'd prefer spending time with like exercising.  Did I just say that?  I'm not as fit as I used to be and I feel like I'm losing a lot of muscle that is turning into fat without gaining much weight.  I think it's called, old age, lol.

Is anyone else out there feeling that too?  What are you doing about it?  I was really inspired by the 94 year old Grandma , Edith Traina, who could dead lift 150 pounds.  She started to lift weights at 91 after one of her friends dragged here to the gym.  You can read the rest of her story here or google her.  Anyone out there want to drag each other out to a gym?

Pink is another popular color, then yellow and then red, available here

What I Learned:

1.  All things must pass and I think my Etsy time might be coming to an end or maybe I'm just in a slump.  It happens.  A lot.

It seems like most of my jobs and careers, as soon as I get to "what I think is the" peak, I'm ready to move on to something else.  Only time will tell.

2.  I've been doing a lot of detoxing, we usually use Dr. Schultz's 30 day detoxes, one each season and we do intermittent fasting when we aren't using his detoxes and I've noticed that it seems I'm experiencing a healing crisis from my childhood and other old injuries, so maybe that's why I'm not as keen on Etsy anymore.

3.  I still feel like donating all my hoard and moving on, but now my husband doesn't want to let it all go, lol.  I've made a small pile to donate that is sitting by the door, which is how I decided to open an Etsy shop, but this time I can let the pile go, I just can't sit in a car long enough yet due to my sciatica.  At least I know an hour of mediation will heal it, but sitting in a car like that makes me so restless and fidgety.  I might have to try sitting full lotus in the car and see if that works.

4.  I'm still getting up at 3 am to see if it helps my insomnia and for the most part it has, but I get so tired during certain times of the day and there isn't a pattern to it, so it just hits me and I'm either a brain dead zombie, grumpy or cranky impatient.  I've been working on solutions like 10 minute power naps, 1 minute exercises, even meditation, sometimes they help, but most of the time they don't seem to make much of a difference.  The good news is I get a lot more done and can spend more time experiencing other things.

Right now I'm brain dead tired.  I usually start waking up at 8 pm and that's the time I try to settle down to get to sleep by 9 pm.  I've tried to get up later like at 4 or 5 am, but I find I'll just go back to bed.  Anyone out there find something that has worked for them?

Here are the 8 different colors we keep in stock, keep in mind some colors sell out quickly due to large orders of certain color requests.  This last month is what the color yellow, which are back in stock.  8 different colors, available here.  These are the 1 inch small capsules and we do not carry any of the larger ones due to cost. Right now we also have a light lavender purple.

Thank you Etsy shop owner buyers:  METIMEEssentialsSissyBathBodyCandles, and AshleysCreationUS and
buyer from HoarderRehabTheDestinyofThings and JunkDrawerAndMore for taking the time to send me your stories and photo updates.  It was so fun browsing and making wish lists of all your bath bombs and other shop items, like candles.  I can only use bath and body products that are organic due to allergies, otherwise I'd be wanting to try all the favorites I picked out!

More than ever,  I'm still feeling I need to let go of everything and start all over, just not sure how to accomplish that right now.  Let's see if I can get the donation pile at the door to the donation center!  Lately, I've been going through my clothes and it's so difficult to let go of my clothes because I think I'm going to wear them (if I ever have to go back to work again, knock on wood) or need them for a special occasion, but it's been about 10 years since I've retired and I have only worn a few.  I think it would be much easier, if they didn't fit anymore!

Everyday is such an adventure dehoarding on Etsy!   I never know who I'll meet and I have met so many Etsy buyers who share their stories with me and every time I glean some insight about where my dehoarding journey is taking me.

My experiment of changing all the jewelry to the general category of jewelry so I could use all the holidays seemed to work for Mother's day, but not so well for Father's day.

For example, under the jewelry category, if I use the more specific categories, like stacking rings, the only holidays to choose from that were upcoming were either Cinco de Mayo or Independence day.  If I wanted to use Mother's day for a holiday, I had to use the most general category of just "jewelry."

Thank you Etsy for the best Hoarder Rehab ever!  And for all the kind people I'm meeting who are helping me indirectly and directly in so many ways with my Hoarder Rehab!

They look slightly washed out in this photo, I'd say the third listing photo is more of it's true color, but so hard to tell with everyone's computer monitors being different.  Light lavender lilac light pastel purple color capsules, available here
photo via The Destiny of Things

It took a lot of time to change the holiday categories for each listing on all the shops and the jewelry categories back to general jewelry, so I hope to get back on my regular Etsy schedule.  My goal is back to 170 items per shop!  It looks like I have a lot of listing to catch up on!

Sales are up and down, but mostly up and then done right now it's down, but that's okay, it'll give me time to list new things so I can make my goal of 170 items per shop!  Guess which shop, I'll be starting on!

Large Taxco Sterling Jerusalem Crusader Cross & Large Pure Silver Mexican Cross: The Destiny of Things, Story 504

Large Taxco Sterling Jerusalem Crusader Cross & Large Pure Silver Mexican Cross:  The Destiny of Things, Story 504

I am so thankful that someone sees beauty in my hoard!  And ordered two crosses!

This Jerusalem Crusader cross has sold out, but I have more crosses and crucifixes here
We have 4 Etsy shops and all of them carry my cross collection from the 80s.

Here is the note I received:

I forgot to ask for a discount haha. I love this piece 😀 thank you for hoarding 😀

I thought it was so funny to be thanked for hoarding!  What a great perspective and silver lining to my hoard!  Love his point of view!  Thank you!  And we also gave him the discount he asked for too!

Here is what I wrote back:

Good morning!

Thank you so much for your order. We'll see what we can do. Thank you for the thank you, it made us laugh!

What will you be doing with the pieces, if I may ask. I am collecting these stories, instead of more things for my Hoarder Rehab and The Destiny of Things blog.

Kind regards and thank you again!
Kennedy

And then he wrote back:

I love beautiful things and I like them around me so I wear them 😀😀😀  I’m kind of a minor hoarder myself. More of a hunter, really (a hoarder with justifications)

Hahaha!  This guy is so funny!  Don't get me started on justifications for hoarding because I used to have a million of them!  Now that I feel as though I'm healed from hoarding, I don't need those justifications or excuses anymore!  Yipee!

I would love to see how he's wearing these though.  I always thought I'd wear the ornate Jerusalem Crusader cross on a leather shoe string, that's how we wore jewelry in college during our punker days.  The pure silver dangle cross, I have some sterling milagros some where still in my hoard and I was going to add them to cross.  I also have a huge milagro collection, but for some reason I can't let that go yet!  Probably because back in the 80s, they were difficult to find.

Saying Goodbye:  These took a long time to sell, but as a recovering hoarder, time is on my side, lol.  It was perfect timing that they found a new life and home last month because if they had sold any time earlier, I think I might have had a twinge of seller regret!

Which is odd for my conflicted recovering hoarder mind because I'm allergic to sterling silver.  Well, I may not be anymore, but I'm so used to not wearing jewelry that any jewelry just feels so heavy now that I just don't bother with it.

What I Learned:

1.  I don't need to hold my conflicted recovering hoarder thinking anymore!  I don't need it and it doesn't work for me anymore, however I've lived with it for so long I need some time, patience and gentleness with myself to undo that thinking, which is like deleting an application over and over from my hard drive that I think I'm going to need one day!  or just keep canceling out the old thinking every time it returns, like a very bad habit.

It's not always easy to catch myself, but it does get easier and I feel stronger by the day!

2.  Now that my sciatica has healed, I've returned to organizing my Pandora's box, which is all over the living room, which was from trying to find some childhood art work from a cousin that started in the hoarded up room!  What a mess!  However, I've emptied over 20 file sized boxes and organized all my art and craft supplies.

3.  Organizing all my art and craft supplies was very insightful because I have over 2 lifetimes of projects now organized!  And I'm not even sure if I'm going to pursue art when I have room and time to make it now.  Crazy!

I'm not sure what is in store for me after my hoard is gone, but I don't think it's going to be art for some reason.  Yet I can't think of anything else I want to do either!

4.  Since reading all the books I've mentioned in my last post, doing yoga sporadically and meditating twice daily, my health has improved 80% and I feel like I'm almost well from every ailment I ever had!  Except for one, which is insomnia which I've had since childhood, so today was the first day I got up at 3 am to see if I'll just knock out at the end of the day.  I've tried this before, but I don't remember what happened, except that I got a lot done!

Thank you Etsy buyer from The Destiny of Things for taking the time to thank me for my hoarding!  It really made my day and gave me a more positive point of view than I usually think of myself.

I'm still feeling I need to let go of everything and start all over, just not sure how to accomplish that right now.  I think I'll be able to donate a lot more, instead of listing it on Etsy, especially my clothes!  I have so much clothes, hoards of clothes I don't even wear anymore, like my teaching clothes.  It's very difficult for me to sell my clothes on Etsy because not many people are my size, so at least maybe I'll be able to donate it all.

Everyday is such an adventure dehoarding on Etsy!   I never know who I'll meet and I have met so many Etsy buyers who share their stories with me and every time I glean some insight about where my dehoarding journey is taking me.

Due to my sciatica, I can't sit on a standard chair or sit in a car, so I mostly stand or I don't know why but I can sit down on my bed just fine!  Anyone out there know how that can be?  Tomorrow, when I get up at 3 am again, I'm going to try sitting on the floor because I tried several different chairs, couch, reclining lounge chair, etc this morning and started to feel numb from my sciatica down to the back of my knee up to the back of my ear.  Thankfully gentle yoga and mediation took it all away!

On all the shops, I've finished changing each listing from the last holiday to the next and it did take a lot of time, like an entire week and now I need to change it all again to the next holiday, Father's day.  Also, I see they took of Graduation or added it to occasions or something.  I noticed that Etsy is changing it's categories to be more detailed and specific, but as they have done that, it also seems that they have taken away many of the holiday choices.

For example, under the jewelry category, if I use the more specific categories, like stacking rings, the only holidays to choose from that were upcoming were either Cinco de Mayo or Independence day.  If I wanted to use Mother's day for a holiday, I had to use the most general category of just "jewelry."

So I am trying that on all the shops!  which is "daring" for me because I feel like I'm going against the stream and definitely won't be winning any popularity contests!  And who knows if I'm short cutting myself out of any Mother's day sales!  Only time will tell.

Thank you Etsy for the best Hoarder Rehab ever!  And for all the kind people I'm meeting who are helping me indirectly and directly in so many ways with my Hoarder Rehab!

Antique 1910 mostly sterling rosary necklace, available here
Only the red glass hearts have a tiny cross etched on them, which is a detail I fell in love with!  One heart bead is missing, but I found some or you could add another medal instead.

We had a birthday and other things to celebrate over here, so we haven't been taking listing photos on the weekends.  My goal is back to 170 items per shop!  I am happy and thankful to say so many items are finding new lives and homes daily!

Sales are up and down, but mostly up, so I am grateful.  Lots of photos of new items will need to be taken this weekend!

I have found several of these in my hoard, but they were all Miraculous Mary cut outs, this is the only one I've seen that has both Mary and Jesus.

Pom Pom Tinsel & Capsule Earrings from Etsy Shop Owner: The Destiny of Things, Story 504

Pom Pom Tinsel & Capsule Earrings from Etsy Shop Owner:  The Destiny of Things, Story 504

Such cuteness and not boring!  BEFORE:

Large 1 inch pom poms with iridescent tinsel in spring color mix or dark color mix, available here
I had a whole hoard of these, but most have sold out!

I'm always curious about the new lives of my hoard, especially with these pom poms and wondering if they end up as cat toys or earrings.  I got courageous and asked and she said earrings and even sent a photo of them!  They are really cute and the capsule ones with pom poms inside are so creative!

AFTER:

Cuteness overload and I love her branding!  Peach fuzz!
photo via PeachBeastShop

These aren't in her shop yet, but I'm sure she'll be adding them soon!  Everything in her shop is handmade!  How cool is that?

Pom pom capsule earrings, so creative cute, aren't they?
photo via PeachBeastShop

Saying Goodbye:  I'll be thankful when all the pom poms and capsules sell out!  I don't think we'll be restocking them, at least that's how I feel today.  Thankfully, we don't have many large pom poms left in stock, but I have a lot more smaller pom poms to list!  Pom pom hoarder! lol

What I Learned:

1.  Sometimes, it's good for me to show some courage and take a chance to reach out to others for inspiration and motivation.  Asking was way out of my comfort zone, but I do try every once in awhile and I got more than I asked for because she even sent photos!  And I can't stop saying it, "they are so cute and creative!"  Thank you PeachBeastShop for taking a chance on me!

2.  Also her orders, put the shop, JunkDrawerAndMore over the top of 2000 sales!  Thank you again, PeachBeastShop!  Yipee!  That's a huge milestone for us and I thank all the Etsy buyers how have helped us get to the 2000 mile mark and all together, we have sold over 4800 items of my hoard!

3.  Since my health is taking on a new direction for the better, I think the rest of my life will too!  Thanks to meditation that I've been practicing for about a year now and last January I found Ajahn Brahm from the Buddhist Society of Western Australia and his meditation videos have helped my body, soul and spirit, more than I can say!  Also, his book, "Who Ordered This Truckload of Dung?"

I look forward to finished his Mediation book, Mindfulness, Bliss and Beyond and starting his book, Don't Worry, Be Grumpy.  Ajahn Brahm has taught me so much from his meditation teachings for the past 3-4 months.  He's very funny and his stories are easily applicable to practice.  One of the first things I learned was Care vs Cure, meaning how much more important it is to care rather than to cure because "caring" will heal more than just the body.

Other books that have been helping me are A Course in Miracles, which I've been using daily, since last December, to change my old thinking ways, especially about my health and my hoarding.  It's a huge book, but I take my own little tiny baby steps with it and I am much more peaceful and joyful now.

Another book is "Healing and Recovery" by David R. Hawkins, MD, PhD.  His book(s) have helped me see between truth and falsehood and helped me identify and understand my emotions and the energy fields that go with them.  Now I can see why I used to be tired so much.

These are smaller ones, about 1/2 inch in size, and are available here

Thank you Etsy shop owner and buyer from PeachBeastShop for taking the time to take photos and send me your story!  I need some inspiration today because I feel like I'm a slow moving bump on a log!  or do they even move?  I feel like I'm stuck today!

Check out her shop, PeachBeastShop, it has all handmade items from stickers to jewelry to clothing with unique designs and I just love her saying, "perfect things are boring."  My favorite item in her shop is here.

I still feel like letting go of everything and starting all over, just not sure how to accomplish that and right now, don't have the energy to muster much.  Maybe I'll meditate for days, since I feel like hibernating.

Everyday is such an adventure dehoarding on Etsy!   I never know who I'll meet and I have met so many Etsy buyers who share their stories with me and every time I glean some insight about where my dehoarding journey is taking me.

Since my sciatica hip injury is healed, I started doing gentle yoga again.  I still don't feel confident about sitting on a standard chair or sitting in a car, so I mostly stand or I don't know why but I can sit down on my bed just fine!  Anyone out there know how that can be?

On all the shops, I've finished changing each listing from the last holiday to the next and it did take a lot of time, like an entire week.  I noticed that Etsy is changing it's categories to be more detailed and specific, but as they have done that, it also seems that they have taken away many of the holidays.

I'm back to reaching my goal of 170 items per shop, instead of 175 per shop because stuff keeps selling or some seasonal items expired.  I am happy and thankful to say so many items are finding new lives and homes daily!  And I'm starting to think about what's next for me once all my hoard is gone!

Sales seem to be on a roller coaster.  Some of our shops are doing better than others and usually it's about the same.  It's someone's birthday this weekend, so even though lots of photos need to be taken, it might not happen, but I have plenty that need to be listed in my hoard of photos.

Click on the shop names to visit new hoard listed daily and/or weekly: HoarderRehab with 166 items, The Destiny of Things- 163 items, VintageToGoEasy - 171 items and JunkDrawerAndMore - 169 items.    Wow!  I have a lot to do to make my new goal!

Maybe you'll find something and give it new life and a new home!  Thanks for looking!

Some of my loteria art cards sold this morning!  I am so thankful!  Tomorrow I'll make some more!  Order a custom order of these here or just wait til next week or the week after and these will be ready to ship.
