 One can't go wrong with these!  They are not only fun for all ages, but they are unisex, no one will be left out on the fortune telling fun!  So fun for a wedding luncheon!  They could be placed on each plate and opened for conversation starters about everyone's love meter findings!

Saying Goodbye:  I am no longer hoarding these, but sharing them to all those who love them as much as I do!  I do carry some with me, in case I see someone, usually little ones that need a little cheer, usually while waiting in line or a waiting room.  A dancing fish in one's palm can bring a little happiness to anyone!

What I Learned:

1.  It's taken me years to get over my hoard, each item that has left, some more than others, has proven either painful or joyous.  I'd say in the beginning it was quite painful, a few even brought tears of sadness, but after the first 50-100 items, it has gotten less and less, until now.  Now most of the pain has turned into joy or neutrality!  And I am so thankful for my transformation!

2.  I just love these fortune fish.  I first used them in the classroom as a magic turned science themed lesson and then again later for lots of other integrated lessons.  Now they are used for party time!  All kinds of themed parties from mermaids to pirates to mermaid and pirate parties, under the sea, fishing, love, magic, carnival, circus and many other themed weddings and birthdays!

What new things will you be learning this 2018?  I have a written short list of New Year's Resolutions and new things I want to learn and try next year!

In the classroom, this was a great English as a Second Language and vocabulary builder for third graders.  Also a fun lesson to teach antonyms and synonyms and make up your own fancy feelings!

Everyday is such an adventure dehoarding on Etsy!   I never know who I'll meet and I have met so many Etsy buyers who share their stories with me and every time I glean some insight about where my dehoarding journey is taking me.

I've been spending more time in my junk room and I can see progress, like a bigger path way and a lot more carpet!  Well, the room got cluttered up again due to holiday stuff.  It's okay, a little setback can be remedied in time!   I'm working on last week's box out of the truck!  And that's okay too because it's time to celebrate and be thankful for Christmas and last year and for the New Year that's coming!

I just received my Loteria cards and I absolutely love them. They worked perfectly for my fiesta themed Christmas tree. I would say that the little gifts that were included with my package really made my day. There were some cute little bits and bobbles that I thought were very thoughtful and quite unexpected. How amazing is that!  Topped with a sombrero, a clever bandolier garland, accented with 54 loteria cards easily made into tree ornaments and other fiesta themed decorations!  Love the 2 pinatas, the star for Christmas Eve and the donkey for Christmas day?

Saying Goodbye:  So fun and inspirational.  What an imaginative and simple way to use a deck of loteria cards!  Just punch some holes and hang with twine or metal ornament holder or put on a string and wrap it on!  I have a ton of these cards saved and use them in my mixed media art, my Frida Kahlo inspired cards just sold this week too!

What I Learned:

1.  These loteria cards are so versatile to make any fiesta party the most festive!  They can be used as easily made DIY garlands and table decorations, examples are table confetti, candle holders, hang off of party drink bottles, party favor bag decor and so much more.  We sell a lot of these and each listing have a lot of different examples of how to create with them!

I learn all the time from Etsy buyers, who'd ever know how much fun these are to create with in so many different ways!

2.  Yesterday I spent hours cleaning and organizing our art and music room, which was hoarded up from ceiling to floor with boxes with just an O path to move about the room!  I got rid of a lot of saved paper ephemera and a ton of empty boxes!  So much so, their is a  4 foot by 4 foot empty space now, lol and the place is starting to look emptied to me, even the hubs noticed, but I guess I'll have to take a photo because my hoarder brain doesn't seem to see the hoard, unless it's in photo form.

Usually I only spend 15 min a day in there daily, which comes out to really about 3 times a week, but the baby steps over the years are starting to add up!

3.  My holiday dreads turned into holiday blues and now they are mostly gone!  Every year I get them and usually get them terribly, but the last 5 years I've been consciously working on it and all the little baby steps I've taken have turned into a milestone pay off!  I'm so excited and happy this holiday, it's like a switch from night to day!

How are you doing this Christmas?  I am so thankful my whole life is steadily on the mend!

Three story ideas about safe keeping tooth holders for your kid's tooth for home or school!

I've passed out hundreds, if not a thousand of these during my teaching years!  I kept 2 kinds of these in the classroom because I could never decide which one was the cutest and I let my students choose which type they wanted, so I wouldn't have to decide!

I used these cute little treasure chests to give to my daughter each time she lost her tooth. They give them to the kids at her school in the nurses office when they lose one, she was always hoping she'd lose one at school but unfortunately didn't happen so I purchased these to make her feel special and for her to be able to get her own treasure box for her very special tooth. She loved it!! These all snapped well and did not open so it was excellent for safe keeping! We also received this faster than expected so I'm ready for that next tooth to fall out yay!! I was worried I wouldn't be. Thank you so much!!

Another fun and thoughtful mom!  What a way to make your daughter feel even more special by having them on hand, just in case!

Another fun idea for kids is they can turn it into a necklace and have it close by for when their tooth falls out.  One can put them on a small chained necklace by using the hinges to hang from it.

I check each tooth holder before they go out for quality control, lol.  When yours arrives and you can here a little rattling, like there's a pirate's tooth or mermaids tooth inside one, it's not, but don't tell your kids that until they open it for themselves!  It's a star pony bead inside it to let you know I checked it to make sure it opens and closes properly for safe keeping.

I am the recess monitor at kids elementary school. After sticking a tooth in an envelope today, I realized we really need something better than an envelope!!! Lol. These are way more fun! Thanks!!

She's going to be the most love recess monitor ever!  And thank you all recess monitors from all over the world for helping out, so teachers can have recess too!  Her story brings back some teaching day memories, when teachers did recess duty too!  I taught in the inner city of Los Angeles and Long Beach, so as a teacher, I know that recess duty can be more stressful than teaching, especially when breaking up fights or seeing guns at recess and making sure all the students get back inside safely for a lock down!  

Saying Goodbye:  I don't know how much longer we will be selling these, I guess until I decide when to move on to something else, but right now I have no clue of what "the something else" might be, but I feel like I'm ready to move on!

What I Learned:

1.  My mom saved all our baby teeth in a clear hinged box with gold twine inside a shadow box with our first shoe, some of our other first baby items and my little felt pink cat pet, that I took everywhere with me for years.  I loved it so much, my mom made me several of those cats, every time one wore out or I lost it.  My brother and I used to visit that shadowbox, when we were kids a lot and we still do!

2.  I don't miss teaching, but I do miss passing these tooth holders out, especially in April for the beginning of Oral Hygiene Month, every students got one of each to prepare for toothless grins!

3.  I have the holiday blues, which I'm struggling to turn into holiday inspiration and thankfulness.  I am doing so much better than when I first started blogging.  The blues come and go, instead of taking a heavy unyielding presence, so that's how I know I'm doing better than last year.  I've done some retail therapy to quiet the blues, but it didn't work this year, so that's a good lesson learned and I'm trying other alternatives, like extra sleep in nap form because my holiday blues include getting tired easily, especially over stressful conditions.

I think the reason retail therapy didn't help this year is because this year I'm a more conscious buyer, so I was in conflict about buying anything when I have the holiday blues.  The big questions for myself is am I buying this because I really like it or because it's going to help relieve my stress and add to my hoard?  Do I really need it, even though I know I'll use it?

Oh and the next day, after I bought the retail therapy items, I had such a better idea to donate to causes that are close to my heart, so I'm doing that this week.

Hi Got my mermaids & your lovely gifts. thank you so much. they are going to be used in air plants. I have a friend who is Queen of All Yard sales & she makes Fairy Gardens too. I have a bunch of sea shells, we ran into about 2 dozen free air plants, so that's what I'm doing with them.

This is my 2nd purchase. The 1st one was for mermaid gardens with air plants, shells, & driftwood. They came out so well, I had requests for more!

How fun!  So much so, she's had more requests for more Mermaid gardens!  What good news to hear!

What a fun simple,yet beautiful gift idea!  Just arrange some shells, driftwood and air plants and hang a mermaid off an air plant or display one sunbathing on a shell or driftwood!  A tropical beach Christmas!  A good way to add some warmth to someone's snowy cold Christmas!

If you don't have time to make a mermaid garden, they would make fun stocking stuffers!

What I Learned:

1.  I am so thankful Etsy buyers are sending me their stories and letting me know the destiny of my hoarded things!  Actually, I call these mermaids, my rehoard now, since they have become quite popular and I love how others have let me know how to use them in so many different ways, not just as the traditional cocktail topper, but also as cupcake toppers, plant jewelry, mini aquarium decoration party favors and mermaid pirate terrarium party activities for kids crafts.

2.  My hoarding days seem to be behind me and today I feel like throwing everything out and starting all over!  Maybe it's just the holiday stress taking over my mind or maybe it's not such a bad idea.  I've purged many times and each time my hoard returns, usually in larger amounts, but maybe now since I've done so much work on the whys, hows, stress triggers and found other alternatives to my stress, maybe this time, I will change into a more evolved person and my purchases will be more purposeful.

3.  Or maybe I need more work on myself because sometimes I wonder if I'm buying something because I really need it or like it or if I'm just adding it to my hoard or relieve some anxiety.

That's my latest buying dilemma, what's yours?  I don't have this issue when buying gifts for others, just myself.
