DIY Pokemon Birthday Party Favor Capsule Balls: The Destiny of Things, Story 415

DIY Pokemon Birthday Party Favor Capsule Balls:  The Destiny of Things, Story 415

Many Etsy buyers are so creative and patient!  BEFORE:

50 or 100 empty gum ball capsules in mixed colors, available here
photo via Hoarder Rehab

Here is the message I received:

Thank you so much. I used them to make "poke" balls for my sons Pokémon birthday party. They were perfect.

She painted all 50 and turned them into these Poke ball cuties!  AFTER:

So creative and what fun and patience to have painted 50!
photo via kind Etsy buyer

I wonder how long it took her to paint all 50 into Poke balls and I wonder what they were filled with and if they were used for just party favors or table confetti and/ or pinata filler?

Another time, I wish I had been a fly on the wall to see someone so happy at his Pokemon birthday party with these!

Here is 100 empty gum ball capsules, available here
If you need less or want all one color or mixed party theme colors or team colors or holiday colors, Etsy email us and we'll tell you what's in stock.
These sell out fast, so sometimes we have a lot in one color for a period of time and then other times not.

Saying Goodbye:   These have become another popular item at our shops and I call them my "rehoard" sales.  I would have never thought that my gum ball collection would have become one of our best sellers!

10, 15 or 20 Empty gum ball capsules in all pink, available here

What I Learned:

1.  Etsy buyers use these for all kinds of different ways!  From jewelry shipment containers to jewelry box organizers.  Bead organizing too!  Some have made fairy lights and fairy flower lights.

DIY Fragrant Jewels Bathbombs with a mystery ring that will float to the top in your bath!  Another Etsy buyer puts little art and things inside for their charity drive gum ball machine!

Barbie Fantasy Hair Display Centerpiece, Apple Bento containers for lunch boxes, Cat Rattle toys and more!

2.  They've been used for Ninja Turtle themed birthday parties, all blue for Batman themed parties and Etsy buyers have ordered all pink and all yellow and of course, I wish they had let me know what kind of themed parties for pink and yellow and what they've filled them with!

Perfect for fiesta parties as pinata fillers, carnival and circus themed parties and classroom school rewards with filled with eraser caps.

I am just too curious!  What would you fill yours with?  I've used mine as cupcake toppers and filled with different cupcake sprinkles for those with allergies or staying away from excess sugar, like with nuts or dried berries or different candy sprinkles or even a tiny prize for those that need sugar free, gluten free, dairy free cupcakes and toppings.

5 or 10 Ninja Turtle colors or primary colors in empty gumball vending machine capsules, available here

 3.  I use mine for jewelry packaging shipment.  These capsules are practically indestructible and I am so surprised as how much they hold.  I send rings, earrings, bracelets, pendants, charms, religious medals and necklaces.  Plus I think it's such a fun novelty to get something in one of these!

For me, it brings back such happy memories and makes new ones too!

4.  I've used them for the grand prize middle of surprise balls, in cracker snaps and advent calendars, so small things don't get lost.

5  I use them for bead and sequin organization and stash them in a clear shoe box for easy access and visibility.

20 or 25 or 30 gum ball vending machine capsule amounts, available here

Thank you Etsy buyer from Hoarder Rehab for letting me know your plans for these and sending an update photo!  You must have so much patience for painting 50 of these and turning them into poke balls for your son's Pokemon birthday party!  Kudos to you!

All these stories and ideas really help me stay on track with mine.  They inspire and motivate to continue with my hoarder rehab!
And I've been spending more time in the music art room dehoarding it and organizing boxes and getting ready to list more in 2017!

Thank you Etsy for the best Hoarder Rehab ever!  And for all the kind people I'm meeting who are helping me indirectly and directly in so many ways with my Hoarder Rehab!  I've been gleaning so much insight about my hoarding ways.

Pastel colors for this coming spring, new baby showers and or Easter!

I'm still catching up on sleep, since I've had insomnia for over 3 decades and am loving my time in wellness mode.  I meditate for at least an hour first thing in the morning before my day gets too busy and it has helped me the most, especially with my sciatica and lower back pain.  With no back pain, I can do gentle yoga twice daily now and take a long walk too!

I have been relisting almost daily and started new listing too!  So check out the shops today for all the new listings!

Fortune Teller Fish Charity Drive Loot Bag & Wedding Favors, Story 413-414

Fortune Teller Fish Charity Drive Loot Bag & Wedding Favors, Story 413-414

So many fun ways to use these fortune telling fish!  Before photo:

Choose your amount of Miracle Fish from 30 to 100, available here

I first started to use these in my third grade classroom for my magic themed teaching that focused on science and math and also integrated into all the other curriculum subjects.

It's a fun way way to introduce magic as explainable science and especially chemistry, since the chemical used to make the fish dance in the palm of your hand is used for many everyday things, like Maximum Absorbency Garment used by NASA astronauts, disposeable diapers, potting soil and more!

My fifth graders loved them too.  Anyways, back to the stories!

After photo from kind Etsy buyer:

How cute is that!
photo via Etsy buyer from VintageToGoEasy

Here is the note that came with the photo:

We got these really quickly and they came with the loveliest note. We used them as a thank you for a charity drive at Build a Bear that my sons do for The Children's Cancer Association.

What a fun item to put in a thank you for a Build a Bear charity drive for The Children's Cancer Association!
Not only are these fun, but they are quite magical and have a scientific explanation of how they work, which can also become a teachable moment for all ages, young and old!

If you need these in smaller amounts, like 8 to 20, these magical dancing fish are available here

I received a short and sweet message from another kind Etsy buyer:

Shipped fast, very fun item. Using them as wedding favors :D

These fun fish make the perfect wedding favors because they are so nostalgic and tell your "love" fortune and can be so funny too, especially watching young children use them for the first time!

I just love them because they bring back memories for the older crowd and make new memories for the younger ones!

Choose your amount of Miracle Fish from 30 to 100, available here

Saying Goodbye:  I call these my "rehoard"  because after I sold the ones I had from my teaching destash, people still wanted more!  So now they are a staple at all our shops and quite a popular item to use in so many ways!

What I Learned:

1.  Basically I used them for teaching my third and fifth graders, but I also used them for substitute teaching because who could ever pass up a dancing fish!  They are easy to use, inexpensive, and fun because they dance!  And don't forget they provide teachable moments!

2.  I tried to use my hoard of them up, when I had them as teacher destash by inserting them into winter holiday cards, Valentine's cards, birthday cards and other snail mail letters.

3.  When I started to dehoard them at our Etsy shops, I learned that Etsy buyers were using them as party favors, so I did too!  I passed them out at beach and pool parties, Little Mermaid theme parties, even pirate parties!

Etsy buyers started to ask for larger amounts and were using them as wedding favors, especially while guests waited for their meals, it gave them something fun to pass the time and was a great ice breaker for starting new conversations with others.

The fortune fish fit nicely in these eco friendly inexpensive loot bags, available here

They've been used for carnival, circus, bass fishing, Bohemian beach, nautical and other themed weddings and birthday parties, I can't remember at the moment!

4.  They've been used as prizes in surprise balls, Advent Calendars and cracker snaps!

5.  They make fun card inserts for any celebration or just to send to cheer someone up!

6.  One Etsy buyer even passed them out in her college class while reading Cathryn Hankla's book of short stories, "Fortune Teller Miracle Fish."

7.  And have been passed out at a quilting bee where many grandmother's giggled over their love fortunes!

8.  I use them in my own Etsy shop "thank you" goody bag for orders going out for shipment!

How would you like to use them?

Here's an example of what one of my "thank you" goody bags.  It's always evolving and I try to add new things each season and holiday, available here.
I've tried to keep it fortune themed, since dehoarding is taking me into uncharted waters and I have no idea what to expect without my hoard! but I also include samples of items from all 4 shops!  And each shop has a different version of the above too!

Thank you Etsy buyers from VintageToGoEasy  for letting me know your plans for these and sending an update photo!  So fun for me!
I just love how these bring back old memories while making new ones!

Restaurant Play Waitress Order Pads: The Destiny of Things, Story 412

Restaurant Play Waitress Order Pads:  The Destiny of Things, Story 412

What a fun stocking stuffer for making childhood memories!

10 pages or a pad of 50, Restaurant Guest Check Order Receipts, available here.  Photo via JunkDrawerAndMore

As a child, I would have loved to have my own pad like the one above to play restaurant at dinner time!  This year, a daughter who loves to play restaurant is going to be very lucky and happy to find these in her Christmas stocking!

Here is the message I received:

My daughter loves to play restaurant; I can hardly wait for her to find this in her Christmas stocking. :)

I can't wait til she finds it either and yes, I would love to be a fly on the wall when she does!

10 pages or a pad of 50, Restaurant Guest Check Order Receipts, available here.  Photo via JunkDrawerAndMore

I use mine as a fun way to make my "to do" lists and then the use the back as as a gratitude list at the end of the day.

Saying Goodbye:  I just love receipt books!  And have used them as a waitress while putting myself through college and later used the one with carbon paper for rent receipts when I was a property manager.

I have even thought about using them for thank you receipts for my Etsy shops, but these are a little too big.  I have been looking for the palm sized one's from my waitressing days with carbon paper, but no such luck yet!

These don't have the carbon paper, but they are still fun!

What I Learned:

1.   I think these would also be fun to use for scrap booking memorable meals, or as recipe cards or as BBQ or pot luck invites with the brunch menu or dinner theme on them.  How would you use them?

2.  Thinking back into my own childhood, I loved to pretend play, especially school, army soldiers and doctor.  We had a play house in our backyard and it would become our pretend play grocery store, restaurant, school, ball room for dress up, etc.

What are your favorite pretend play memories?

My brother and I would play army men for hours with little guns like these!  We'd play in the mud a lot with little plastic soldiers too, digging trenches, moving mountains and changing river courses to defeat our enemies!
10 or 15 mini guns available here

Thank you Etsy buyer from JunkDrawerAndMore  for letting me know about your daughter's restaurant pretend play.  How exciting for you both and especially you with anticipation of Christmas stocking goodies!

Again, thanks for sharing, it has brought back many old happy memories and now I can think of how to make new ones too this Christmas!

All these stories and ideas really help me stay on track with mine.  I haven't been throwing much away lately due to holiday stress, but I have stayed within my retail therapy budget this year and every year I spend less too!

And I've been spending more time in the music art room dehoarding it and organizing boxes and getting ready to list more in 2017!

I'm spending most of my time in wellness mode and my allergies have been getting better too.  I think meditation for at least an hour a day has helped me the most, especially with my sciatica and lower back pain.  With less back pain, I can do gentle yoga twice daily now and take a long walk too!

DIY Fragrant Jewels Inspired Gumball Capsule Bathbombs: The Destiny of Things, Story 411

DIY Fragrant Jewels Inspired Gumball Capsule Bathbombs:  The Destiny of Things, Story 411

Anyone else have to google Fragrant Jewels?

10 or 20 or 30 empty gumball vending machine capsules, available here

It's a candle or bathbomb with a jeweled ring hidden inside it.  How creative and interesting!

Here is the note I received from razztea:

I'm going to use these little bubbles for my own take on Fragrant Jewels this Christmas. I'll make homemade bathbombs and put my wire wrapped rings in these so that as the bathbombs dissolve, the rings float to the surface.

What a fun surprise and creative gift!  A mystery ring that floats to the surface while taking a bathI wonder if she'll be using the same type of the rings from her Etsy shop, RazzteaCrochet, like these here.  I love how they look, so simple and yet so cute!

I don't think the gumball capsules are air tight, so when the bathbomb stops fizzing, the capsule with the ring inside will float to the surface!  And wa-la, your ring will appear!  At least that's how I imagine it!  So fun!

These show all the different colors we have in gumball capsule bottoms, but they will vary in shades slightly, some maybe be darker or lighter in color.  We also have black now, but not very many, so we will list them upon request.  Some of the tops might be frosted and some might be clear.
10 or 20 or 30 empty gumball vending machine capsules, available here

Saying Goodbye:  Yes, I used to hoard gumball capsules and probably have every color in my collection, except, gold and silver.  As soon as my hoard has cleared, I'd like to have a gumball machine for my very own tiny art and childhood treasures!

50 or 100 empty gumball vending machine capsules, available here

What I Learned:

1.  My hoard is taking longer than I had planned to find them all new homes because I keep finding more and more!  It is a bit overwhelming, but as long as I keep taking baby steps, I'll reach my goal one day.

And I am thankful that some of what I call my "rehoard" have become popular items at our shops and I can keep buying them until it gets old for me and I get over buying it again and again.

2.  This is one of my the most creative ways I've heard so far on how to use these "empty" gumball capsules!  Other creative ways have been a string of fairy lights, fairy flower lights, cupcake toppers with special sprinkles for individual needs to food allergies, like some with nuts, others with candies and some with a cute prize inside for those that can't have sugar or nuts, etc.

I ship out lots of different types of jewelry in the capsules, rings, bracelets, pendants, charms and necklaces fit in these and it's worry free from being crushed in the mail!  I also ship out beads with these.

Also, many have been used for pinata filler, surprise balls, cracker snap prizes, table confetti with themed party items inside, even wedding exit confetti filled with traditional rice, or bird seed or paper sprinkles!

3.  My health is much better now and I've been looking for a new direction for a new adventure!  I'll still be dehoarding on all four shops, but I think I'm ready for something different now.

If you just need 10 or more in one color, party themed colors, or team colors, just contact us and we will see what we can do for you!
